On The Air ALL ARTICLES DEXTER GRONSETH CHOSEN AS “2011 BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR” SEPTEMBER 19, 2011 Dexter Gronseth, Assignment Editor for KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, SD was honored as the “2011 Broadcaster of the Year” by the South Dakota Broadcasters Association (SDBA) at their Annual State Leadership Conference held September 16 & 17 at The Lodge Resort & Casino in Deadwood, SD. Dexter was recognized for his service to the industry as volunteer Media Coordinator for the SD Supreme Court and his leadership that lead to the first televised court case on July 1, 2011. Allowing cameras in some SD courtrooms is a major milestone for all journalists in our state. Dexter Gronseth played a crucial role in making that access possible for all media. Dexter began working in KELO Television newsroom in 1979 as a photographer, and has been serving as an assignment editor since 1995. Dexter guides KELO’s daily coverage and he also coordinates special events. Dexter began serving as Volunteer Media Coordinator for SD Supreme Court in 2001, and continues to do so. He and his wife Jessica, reside in Sioux Falls. The SD Broadcasters Association is proud to present the 2011 Broadcaster of the Year Award to Dexter Gronseth. The SD Broadcasters Association is a trade association that represents South Dakota’s radio and television stations. It provides education, regulatory assistance and legislative representation to its members. |
