On The Air ALL ARTICLES TONY MANGAN CHOSEN AS “2011 BROADCASTER OF THE YEAR” SEPTEMBER 19, 2011 Tony Mangan Chosen as “2011 Broadcaster of the Year” Tony Mangan, News Director of KCCR/KLXS Radio in Pierre, SD was honored as the “2011 Broadcaster of the Year” by the South Dakota Broadcasters Association (SDBA) at their Annual State Leadership Conference held September 16 & 17 at The Lodge Resort & Casino in Deadwood, SD. Tony was recognized for the service he has and continues to provide to the communities of Pierre and Fort Pierre during the Missouri River Flood of 2011. Since word first broke of the impending flood, Tony has put in many 18-20 hour days to relay accurate information quickly. His tireless efforts have made radio the main, trusted source for ongoing news and information for the entire community. Tony has been the news director at KCCR Radio for 14 years. He has been involved in many organizations within the community, including the Capital City Children’s Choir Board, American Legion Post 8 Baseball Board, Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus, St Joseph School Board, Sts Peter and Paul Parish Council President, and the Red Cross. It is a demonstration of his commitment to the business and his profession that he is pursuing a masters degree in journalism. He and his wife Sheila have 4 grown children and reside in Pierre. The SD Broadcasters Association is proud to present the 2011 Broadcaster of the Year Award to Tony Mangan. The SD Broadcasters Association is a trade association that represents South Dakota’s radio and television stations. It provides education, regulatory assistance and legislative representation to its members. |
