The ideal candidate will be a passionate photographer, solid interviewer, and excellent trainer. You’ll teach new employees the ins and outs of editing and great shooting techniques. You’ll shoot and write stories on your own, and with reporters/anchors.
You’ll run our ENG truck and help us identify new technologies for remote newsgathering. You’ll keep tabs on our vehicle fleet to make sure we stay on the road.
You’ll shoot on a Sony EX3 field camera and edit in Adobe Premiere, so familiarity with those products (or a short learning curve) is a bonus.

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair a variety of broadcast equipment, including but not limited to: television cameras, videotape machines, video switchers, audio/video distribution equipment, and computerized video editing systems, and Automation Playout and Storage Systems. Duties will also involve the maintenance and repair of digital transmitters, microwave systems, and satellite receive systems. Will install new equipment, and assist in setting up equipment for newsgathering and remote productions. This is primarily a daytime position, but the shifts may vary, and will contain some amount of on-call duty, so schedule flexibility is important. Benefits included.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/BACKGROUND:
Candidates should have two or more years of experience in the maintenance and repair of broadcast or similar equipment. SBE Certification or equivalent education and experience preferred. A strong IT or computer background is a plus. Candidates must have good verbal and written communication skills, computer usage skills, a positive work ethic, customer service skills, and be able to work equally well independently or as part of a team. Must be in reasonably good physical condition and be able to kneel, climb ladders, lift and carry equipment weighing 70 pounds, and work in physically challenging situations such as heights, confined spaces, and inclement weather. Candidates must be safety-conscious. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet insurance and driving record requirements. Pre-employment drug screen and background checks are required.
